Thank you, Academy of Natural Sciences, for your eye-level gift to pedestrians on 19th Street. Without apparent fanfare, two small sculptures appeared a year ago or so, atop the low walls flanking the side door. Besides wordlessly “signing” the Academy, the spiral ribs on the shells and the linear ones on the columns behind make a perfect pair!
