Promoting Social Impact Real Estate Through Public Sector Partnerships
8 a.m. Thursday, April 6, Center for Architecture +Design, 1218 Arch St.
Greg Heller, executive director of the Philadelphia Redevelopment Authority, originally scheduled for our snowed-out February meeting, will discuss his vision for the PRA, its new focus on “social impact” as a way of scoring development proposals, and some of the big projects PRA has tackled since his appointment last April.
These include: Logan Triangle, the Germantown YWCA, Eastwick planning study, 800-30 Vine Street and Osage/Pine (aka the MOVE blocks).
Greg is the former CEO of American Communities Trust, a consulting group that worked on projects in over 25 U.S. cities focusing on the intersection of real estate and social impact. He speaks and writes widely on that subject and is the author of Ed Bacon: Planning, Politics, and the Building of Modern Philadelphia. Greg is also an alumnus of the DAG Steering Committee.
